EFEKTIVITAS AICHR DALAM MENANGANI KASUS PELANGGARAN HAM

Abstract

ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission for Human Rights (AICHR) as an ASEAN human
rights commission has an obligation to take a role in the resolution of human rights violations in
Myanmar. But the AICHR’s role is still limited to a statement and a warning to Myanmar and could
not force Myanmar to address the violation of human rights in the country. This research aims to
identify and analyze the effectiveness of AICHR in solving the problems of ethnic minorities in the
country of Myanmar. This research uses descriptive qualitative analysis model, study research
literature, as well as the method of data collection is through the analysis of documentaries, books,
journals, reports, and Internet sites. The results of this study show that the first AICHR ineffective
in solving the problems of human rights in Myanmar country, two to be able to resolve human rights
issues AICHR member states need a clear mechanism that can provide a good solution for the
settlement of various humanitarian cases in Southeast Asia, especially Myanmar.
