PENERAPAN PBL MODEL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN READING COMPREHENSION MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INGGRIS
Abstract
This research is classroom action research. The objectives of this studywere to know how PBL Model can improve the reading ability of the students ofEnglish Study Program FKIP University of Riau and to know what factorsinfluenced the increase of the reading ability of the students of English StudyProgram FKUP UR. The result of the study found that PBL Model which isderived from constructivism theory can improved the ability of the students ofEnglish study program FKIP UR in comprehending reading academic text. Thedata analysis showed that the mean of pre test is 45.78, post test I is 70.03 andpost test II is 75.95. The improvement was due to students were more active andmotivated well in learning reading by using PBL Model. It was because thismodel can facilitate students in identifying the problems, brain storming,analyzing, formulating problem, self-study dan presenting activities.
