Abstract

Abstract: This paper describes the development of International Relations(IR) as a study. While the interest to learn how states interact with oneanother and how power influences the relationship can be traced back inthe works of Kautilya and Thucydides hundred of years ago, the modernstudy of IR is still considered as a new discipline. This can be seen by thefact that the first opening of IR class was established in 1919 following theend of World War I. The paper will focus on how almost century later thestudy of IR has improved significantly in terms of epistemology, ontology, aswell as methodology, due to the complexity of the international system.
