Pengolahan Air Lindi TPA Muara Fajar dengan Ultrafiltrasi

Abstract

Membrane technology is an effective technology to purify wastewater. Theobjective of the research is to determine the performance of the ultrafiltration forremoval of BOD 5 , COD and TSS from leachate effluent. This research has beenconducted on water purification Muara Fajar landfill leachate Tassel-Pekanbaruwith ultrafiltration process using aluminum sulfate as a coagulant. Leachate waterpurified by ultrafiltration membranes with a variation of operating pressure (1; 1,5;2 bar). The result show that ultrafiltration process removed 71,43% of BOD 5 ,70,59% of COD, and 45,45% of TSS at 2 bar. The flux increased with theincreasing of pressure operation.
