Pengaruh Temperatur Kalsinasi Kaolin untuk Bahan Pembentuk Zeolit 4A
Abstract
Zeolite 4A can be used as a substitute for forming phosphate detergents. Zeolite 4Ain synthesis of calcined kaolinite. But the less reactive nature of kaolin causes theformation of zeolite 4A difficult, it is necessary to process the kaolin calcined kao-lin into metakaolin that is more reactive. This study has been carried out with varia-tions of kaolin calcination temperature between 500 ̊C to 800 ̊C. synthesis reac-tion process of zeolite 4A is done by mixing sodium silicate and sodium aluminatewith long stirring time 3 hours, and continue heating at a temperature of 80 ̊C for 8hours. The results of the synthesis of zeolites were characterized by using X-raydiffractometer. Zeolite 4A were generated in kaolin calcination treatment at a tem-perature of 700 ̊C and comparison with the synthesized zeolite XRD diffractogramMurat et al (1992), concluded zeolite synthesis results in this study is a zeolite 4A.
