Pemanfaatan Ekstrak Nikotin Limbah Puntung Rokok sebagai Inhibitor Korosi

Abstract

Cigarette is a cylinder of paper that has a length of about 70 mm - 120 mm in di-ameter 10 mm containing tobacco leaves are chopped. Cigarette butts are the resi-due of cigarette with tobacco as main raw material. Extraction of tobacco producesnicotine that can be used as an corossion inhibitor. Retrieval methods of nicotineextract by sokletasi using 96 % ethanol followed by evaporation. Testing the corro-sion rate and effectivity of corrosion inhibitor by losing weight method with varia-tion 3, 6, 9, and 12 days . Extract nicotine results is 46.82 % of solvent total volume350 ml and 50 grams of tobacco powder materials . The results showed a tendencymore time soaking inhibitor efficiency increases. Inhibitor efficiency was greatestat 12 days of immersion time with addition of nicotine extract 3000 ppm was 70.27%.
