Abstract


Research has been conducted on the foam material using the method of measurement in a confinedspace to determine the value of sound reduction produced by the speakers at a particular frequency.Specification foam material has a density of consecutive 0,003 ⁄ , 0,0031 ⁄ ,dan 0,0033 / and has a volume of 20 cm x 20 cm x 1.7 cm. Each sample was measured at adistance of 30 cm, 50 cm and 70 cm from the speaker. The measurement results were analyzed bydistance, density and frequency. Based on research results Insertion Loss value for the sample A, Band C at a frequency of 125 Hz with a distance of 30 cm has a value of 0.7 dB, 1 dB and 1.1 dB.Insertion Loss value is increased with increasing density. Values Insertion Loss increasingly varied ata frequency greater than 500 Hz, this is because the foam material used is not able to drown out thenoise with high frequency.
