Abstract


Electron diffraction pattern of crystal with the structure of hexagonal especially cobalt inthe form of thin films is difficult to analyze manually. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize acomputer to do the calculation. In this article, in order to do the calculation, then we havedeveloped two computer programs using Matrix Laboratory (MatLab) version R2008b.The first program called menu program to store the input data that is required in thecalculation of the lattice parameters (a and c). The second program called main program.This program was developed to perform calculations of the lattice parameters according toinput data from menu. The data used in this research is electron diffraction pattern ofcobalt which was obtained from transmission electron microscope (TEM). The radius ofeach ring of the diffraction pattern was measured using a vernier caliper. These value wereinput into the program menu. The main program will calculate the value of distancebetween the plane in the crystal
