PENGGUNAAN COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS MAHASISWAPROGRAM STUDI BAHASA INGGRIS, FKIP UNIVERSITAS RIAU
Abstract
This Research is intend to identify the level of writing ability of the students ofEnglish Study program FKIP - UNRI by using Cooperative Learning Method. Thesamples of the research were all of the first year students that joined Writing IC. Thestudents were given pre-test and post-test in order to know the level of their writingability. Between the two kinds of tests, teaching-learning process by using CooperativeLearning Method mentioned by Rookswas given as the treatment. Data analysis wasconducted by comparing the scores of pre-test and post-test. Data calculation concluded thatwith df = 7g -1= 77, it was found that r table with significant level 5% = 2.64; and 1% = =1,99 which were smaller than t0 = 3.005. As a result, null hypothesis (H) was rejected andalternative hypothesis (H) was accepted. In conclusion, cooperative Learning Method playeda significant role in increasing the writing ability of students of English Study programFKIP UNRI.
