PENGIMPLIMENTASIAN PENILAIAN YANG SEBENARNYA (Authentic Assessment) BIDANG STUDI BAHASA INGRIS DI SMU NEGERI KABUPATEN BENGKALIS PROVINSI RIAU
Abstract
One of important things in competency based curriculum is learning mastery forevery student based on minimum target of competency. In learning English subject, thereare some components, they are listening, speaking, reading and compositing that have 6categories target. In getting the target national education directorate has recommendedto use "Classroom assessment" that has 4 components, they are test, evaluation,measurement and assessment. Authentic assessment has 8 aspects, they are a,) OralInterview, b) Story or text retelling, c) writing report, d) project/exhibition, e)experiments/demonstration, f) constructed- response items, g) teacher observation, andh) portfolios. Based on observation have been done by writer on English teachers atSenior High School in Bengkalis found that all the aspects have not run well yet. Inlearning process teachers find some problem such as a) Teachers need more time tofinish their lesson plan before coming to the class, b) teachers need to write student’sactivities during the studying process, c) The students will get boring in the learningprocess because they think all their activities write by their teacher, d) The teachersneed more time to measure and analysis students' activities, and e) teachers do notfamiliar with learning process, so the teachers should do more to make the study easierfor students. This research use descriptive method or expo depacto that explain 2variables about understanding and implementation authentic assessment done by Englishteachers in Senior High School at Bengkalis. Using test and questionnaires, the writercollects the data and found that authentic assessment still in poor categories.
