PERAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DALAM PENGEMBANGAN USAHA BANK SAMPAH

Abstract

Waste is one source of environmental problems to date. Various efforts have been made both by the
government, non-governmental organizations, environmental groups, and the general public to overcome
the problem. The presence of a waste bank contributes greatly to waste management. The garbage
bank Dalang Collection is the largest waste bank in the city of Pekanbaru. The waste bank has succeeded
in processing waste into a variety of products of high economic value. The objectives of this study are
(1) to analyze the extent to which the role of entrepreneurship in the Dalang Collection Waste Bank
Business in Pekanbaru City, and (2) analyze the efforts made in the business development of the
Dalang Collection Waste Bank. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods.
Data is collected through interviews with the owners and workers of Dalang Collection. The results
showed that there were several aspects of entrepreneurship which influenced business development in
the collection department, including: willingness and confidence, focus on goals, hardworking, risktaking,
courageous responsibility, innovative, knowledgeable, able to convince others, and have managerial
abilities. The most important aspect is the aspect of willingness and confidence, and the smallest role is
the aspect of managerial ability. Business development carried out in the collection arena includes:
management, human resources, products, markets, technology, and networks, where product
development is the most dominant, and the least is the development of human resources and technology.
Business development efforts in the collection arena consist of two, namely business development
carried out in the Mastermind collection, there are two forms of Business Development related to
garbage collection, and business development related to Waste Management.
