PELUANG DAN TANTANGAN OBYEK WISATA ISTANA KERJAAN GUNUNG SAHILAN

Abstract

The research aims to find out the opportunities and challenges of the attractions of the King's Palace of
Mount Sailan in Kampar District. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive techniques. The subjects
in this study consisted of seven people, namely community leaders at the King's Palace of Mount
Sailan Tourism and the Tourism and Culture Service of Kampar Regency and Riau Province as well as
visitors. Data collection techniques using interviews which are the primary data in this study and
documentation obtained from the Kampar District Tourism Office and the Riau Province Tourism
Office as well as various literatures which are secondary data sources. Research results The opportunities
obtained by the development of Gunung Sahilan Royal Palace attractions include: economic and
community creativity will increase, home industries can be marketed, local wisdom will be maintained,
reduced unemployment rate, increased public knowledge in tourism, increased regional income. The
challenge is that there is still negative thinking from the public towards tourism, lack of guidance signs
towards the location, lack of knowledge of community resources in tourism. Lack of supporting facilities
in the form of restaurants, stopovers, and gas POMs as well as a lack of socialization in the area of
Gunung Sahilan Royal Palace Tourism Object from the public, the private sector and the government.
